There can come a point where life looks fine from the outside, but inside you feel anxious, guilty, exhausted or not quite like yourself.
You may have spent years caring for other people, keeping things going, supporting your husband, children, family, work or home. But now your body feels unsettled, your mind feels busy, and even resting can bring guilt.

The Pursuit of Joy Pathway is a one-to-one therapeutic programme for women over 50 who want to feel steadier, calmer and more connected to themselves again.
This is not about pretending everything is fine or forcing yourself to be positive. It is about gently understanding what has been happening, calming the guilt and worry, rebuilding trust in yourself and creating space for a life that still feels like yours.

What we work on
Together, we look at the patterns that may be keeping you stuck, including guilt, worry, over-responsibility, body fear, self-criticism and the pressure to keep coping.
Depending on what you need, sessions may include CBT, hypnotherapy, self-compassion work, calming tools, guided therapeutic exercises and practical planning.
The focus is on helping you feel safer in yourself, kinder towards yourself and clearer about what you need moving forward.
The 6-Session Pathway
Session 1: The Guilt and Worry Map
We gently map what has been happening, including anxiety, guilt, emotional pressure, body symptoms, family patterns and what you would like to feel different.
Session 2: Rebuilding Body Trust
We look at how worry and stress can affect the body, and begin building a calmer, steadier relationship with physical sensations.
Session 3: Caring Without Carrying Everything
We explore the difference between caring deeply and feeling responsible for everyone else’s emotions, choices or wellbeing.
Session 4: The Self-Compassion Reset
We work on the inner voice, guilt, shame and self-pressure, helping you respond to yourself in a steadier and more supportive way.
Session 5: The Joy Map
We explore what brings meaning, calm, connection and enjoyment into your life now, not who you used to be or what others expect from you.
Session 6: Your Next Chapter Plan
We bring the work together into a practical plan you can continue using, including tools for worry, guilt, body confidence, boundaries, reconnecting with what matters most, and moving towards the life you can now begin to imagine.
